The order backlog of APS Energia Group increased by 75%.
A record order book may herald a successful second half of the year. The group has no problems in securing new orders in foreign markets, and that too at significantly higher margins than domestically. Negotiations are well advanced regarding the sale of Russian assets – says Piotr Szewczyk, CEO of APS Energia.
In the first half of the year, the consolidated revenues of the guaranteed power supply systems manufacturer amounted to PLN 49.1 million, compared to PLN 60.2 million recorded in the previous year. The gross profit from sales increased by 14% year-on-year to PLN 10.8 million. At the net income level, there was a loss of PLN 9.8 million (-3.7 million zlotys loss from the previous year).
“This year we have dealt with exceptional seasonality, which meant that fixed costs weighed more heavily in the results of the first half of 2023. In addition, unfavourable exchange rate differences reduced the result by 20%. It should be remembered that in our business, the first two quarters of the year are usually the weakest in terms of results. We enter the second half of the year with great optimism. Our order book is a record high and at the end of June this year, it was 75% higher year-on-year. This may indicate a very good second half of the year – we expect very good results,” says Piotr Szewczyk, CEO of APS Energia.
One of the Group’s priorities is further foreign expansion. In the past half-year, export sales accounted for over 51% of total revenues. The largest foreign market was the European Union, which provided PLN 14.4 million in revenue. From European countries outside the EU, there were PLN 8.8 million, and from Asian countries nearly PLN 2.2 million.
“We currently have no problems in securing new orders in foreign markets, and that too at significantly higher margins than domestically. Our contractors come from Western Europe, the Middle East, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. We are constantly working on new agreements with partners from Asia and Africa,” adds Piotr Szewczyk.
APS Energia is in the process of selling its Russian assets – its subsidiary OOO APS Energia Rus. The company has been operating since 2008 and has an assembly plant in Yekaterinburg, a branch in Moscow, and an office in St. Petersburg. It employs a total of about 100 people.
“Negotiations on the sale of the Russian company are at a very advanced stage. We hope to complete the entire process by the end of the year. The funds obtained will be intended for new investments and to boost working capital,” indicates the CEO of APS Energia.
