APS Energia enters Asian traction market
APS Energia enters the Asian traction market and initiating cooperation with the Taiwan Railway Administration. The automatic voltage regulators designed and manufactured by APS Energia together with the measurement system, will be installed in modern, energy-efficient trains.
“The contract for the Taiwanese railway is another step in the implementation of our strategy. We are opening up to new foreign markets, we are flexible in designing equipment for our customers, and we are betting on new technologies,” – said president of APS Energia Piotr Szewczyk.
APS Energia is carrying out the contract together with EMIT. The scope of supply includes SAN-AVR-4 devices and a dedicated SAN-AVR-S measuring system. This is the latest product from the SAN-AVR family, i.e. automatic voltage regulation systems designed for cooperation with synchronous generators. One of the most important features of the new product is the increased IP55 protection level, which allows the unit to operate in dusty and water-prone environments. The generators are supplied by EMIT. The solution proposed by both companies will enable the power supply of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment on energy-efficient and environmentally friendly trains.
The Taiwan Rolling Stock Company is responsible for the design and manufacturing of vehicles characterized by low levels of noise and emissions.
The contract with the Taiwan Railway Administration is part of APS Energia strategy to build its position as a global supplier of traction components. Seeing the potential in green transport APS Energia is constantly developing new technological solutions for the transport and traction industry. The product range includes: power systems for metro facilities and railway traffic control, modern static converters, drive inverters designed for metro vehicles, trams, trolleybuses, other rail vehicles, electric multiple units, locomotives, wagons.
