APStorage is a storage facility for storing of electrical energy from a few kilowatt hours to several megawatt hours. The system consists of a bi-directional inverter, controller (containing algorithms for setting the value and direction of active and reactive power flow to perform system functions) and chemical energy storage.Depending on the required charging and discharging currents, operating conditions and the economical factor, we can use different battery types: lithium-ion, lead-acid, nickel-cadmium or hydride.
In a cabinet system (with an energy capacity from 5 kWh to 320 kWh), the bi-directional inverter is cabinet-built, the energy storage controller is integrated with the inverter controller, the chemical battery is placed on racks or in cabinets.
The container system (with an energy capacity from 320 kWh to 1,280 kWh) is offered in containers with an integrated anti-burglary, fire alarm and air conditioning system.
Energy storage tasks:
- Fast generation capacity reserve
- Area control
- Frequency adjustment
- Equalization of load and power profiles
- Cooperation with RES installations
- Maintaining angular and voltage stability
- Support for overloaded parts of the network
- Delaying of grid investments
- Power quality control and improvement
The system consists of interconnected:
- Inverter cabinets (PCS)
- Battery storage
- Energy management system (EMS)
Autonomic operation mode – off-grid
