FAT CW/CS
A special type of inverter is systems for powering asynchronous motors – FAT. These inverters are characterised by frequency control of motor speed.
Product description
The compact wall-mounted (CW) inverter is attached to the wall using the brackets supplied with the unit, while the compact standing (CS) drive inverter is fitted with a floor-mounted base.
Despite its small size and simple design, the system is fully functional. The inverters operate on-line. As the FAT systems can be supplied with DC voltage from the DC switchgear, they are used to power, for example, emergency pumps in power and heating plants. They can be equipped with an overhaul bypass and a SAN 7 type automatic monitoring system.
The application of the FAT system brings the following benefits:
- ensuring the uninterruptible operation of system-critical equipment that is sensitive to power failures and whose disconnection (caused by a mains power failure) could result in significant material damage
- optimisation of the system’s operating parameters by adjusting the engine speed (power) – possibility of reducing the energy demand under certain operating conditions
- providing a soft start for the motor – reducing the current surges in the motor supply circuits while reducing the shock torques on the motor shaft
