Static converters BFI 100T-TRW
Converter BFI 100T 400/230/24 TRW BFI 100T-TRW designed for powering devices installed in the carriage.
Product description
With a total output power of 100 kW (when powered from the traction network), the converter is a device dedicated to carriages with increased demand for electrical energy (e.g., dining cars). It is adjusted to cooperate with the SAN-RC logger, which operates as an event buffer for the converter (option).
The converter works with the following power sources:
- overhead contact line (all European supply systems according to UIC 550): 3 kV DC, 1.5 kV DC, 1.5 kV AC 50 Hz, 1 kV AC 16.7 Hz, 1 kV AC 50 Hz;
- platform network 3×400 VAC;
- unit 3×400 VAC 10 kW;
Thanks to the applied IGBT converter topology, the device features high stability of output voltages and currents, very low output current and voltage ripple, compact dimensions and weight, quiet operation, and high efficiency.
The unit consists of three modules enclosed in passive-cooled aluminium boxes for mounting under the carriage.
The APS-100 MAG TRW module includes, among others: an earthing switch, main fuse, input choke, input rectifier system.
The APS-100 WN TRW module is powered by DC voltage from the MAG module and lowers it to 700 VDC. It includes, among others: an autostart system for starting the device with a completely discharged carriage battery, a soft start system limiting the current surge when connecting the carriage to the high voltage network (resistor + contactor), a DC/DC converter lowering the voltage, two starting inputs for 230 VAC platform power supply.
The APS-100 LV module converts the 700 VDC voltage from the HV module into output voltages intended for the carriage’s receivers. It includes, among others: an inverter system (92 kVA): separate 230 VAC output (10 kVA); 24 VDC 250 A battery charger with current limiting and automatic battery charging voltage regulation function based on temperature; 24 VDC 50 A battery charger with current limiting and automatic battery charging voltage regulation function based on temperature, two 3×400 VAC platform power supply inputs, a 3×400 VAC 10 kW generator power supply input.
