Piotr Szewczyk in the final of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year competition
EY Entrepreneur of the Year is an international initiative promoting the best companies and authorities in the business world. This worldwide competition is organized, by EY since 1986 and more than 60 countries participate in it. Piotr Szewczyk, President of APS Energia joined the group of thirteen finalists of this year’s edition and will compete for the title of Entrepreneur of the Year in the category of New Technology / Innovation.
The competition EY Entrepreneur of the Year is attended by over 10 000 entrepreneurs so far. The jury, independent of EY, to decide on the best entrepreneurs, takes into account such aspects as: entrepreneurship, strategy, international operations, innovation and relationships with employees and the environment. So established criteria – identical in all countries – give entrepreneurs from around the world an equal chance to compete for the victory.
Joining the group of finalists gives the opportunity to make contacts with prominent representatives of Polish business. The finalists of the previous editions include Irena Eris, Rafal Brzoska, Janusz Filipiak, Jędrzej Wittchen, Piotr and Paweł Woś, Leszek Gierszewski. The competition is also a media event, thanks to the involvement of leading national media, including Gazeta Wyborcza, TVN24 BiS TV station, TokFm radio, wp.pl web portal or Harvard Business Review magazine. Therefore, finding among the best enhances recognition of the company.
The crowning achievement of each edition is Final Gala takes place every year in November, where the winner – Entrepreneur of the Year is announced. In June of the following year, the winner will represent Poland in the global finals of the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year in Monte Carlo.
