The APS Energia Group plans to use its equity capital and the funds obtained from the private issue to intensify development of management systems aimed at producers of mounted traction. The Group recently signed its first contract with one of the leading manufacturers of rolling stock and is conducting further discussions on the future supply of its equipment for this industry.

– In the spring of this year, we opened a department Traction Department, for which we are constantly recruiting new employees. Work has been successfully completed on the first devices designed for producers of mounted traction. The more complex ones are currently at the testing phase. The simpler devices have already been included in our product portfolio. We recently signed our first contact for the supply of power sources for onboard equipment. We are currently in talks with other partners,” said Piotr Szewczyk, Chairman of APS Energia SA.

The company estimates the value of the Polish dynamic traction market at over 150m zł. In addition, the Group sees great potential in carrying out contracts on eastern markets, in particular the Russian market, the value of which is incomparably greater than the Polish market.

In recent years the APS Group has been intensively building up its geographical position and today can boast of a strong distribution and service structure beyond Poland’s borders, particularly in Russia and Central Asia, which will serve as the basis to implement our strategy of selling and marketing new solutions such as products aimed at manufacturers of mounted traction, including trains, trams, subways and trolley buses,” explains Dominik Biegaj, Director of Strategy and Development at APS Energia SA.

It should be noted that the company has so far focused mainly on offering products and systems for the oil and gas (extraction, transmission, processing) and power industries (generation, transmission, distribution). The development of new advanced system and product solutions will enable APS Energia to expand the group’s product range and open up access to new markets.

– We want to focus primarily on the research and development of new technologies with regard to devices used in traction units. We plan to spend several million złotys on research and development, this will include funds raised from investors in a private placement, explains Chairman Szewczyk.

This year, APS Energia will be exhibiting for the first time at the upcoming TRAKO fair, one of the largest rail industry events in Europe, where it will present its products and solutions for traction infrastructure, as well as its new systems for dynamic traction.

In 2012 the APS Group achieved 65.2 million zł revenue, EBIT of 10.9 million and 6.6 million zł net profit. The forecast for 2013 assumes an increase in revenue of 13.8% to 74.2 million zł, of EBIT by 11% to 12.1 million zł and net profit by 27.1% to 8.4 million zł. In 2014, the group aims to achieve revenues of 94.2m zł, 16.4m zł EBITDA and 11.5m zł net profit.
